Session and Tracks
Track 1: Organic Semiconductors
Organic semiconductors continue to draw great attention from different disciplines because of the plethora of unique and attractive properties they can exhibit. Recent advances in fundamental understanding, coupled with the introduction of new materials and synthetic routes, have enabled the development of a wide range of devices with new functionalities and performance on par with established inorganic technologies. Such demonstrations are paving the way for many innovative applications in emerging sectors of science and technology. This symposium focuses on recent advances on the synthesis, characterization and application of organic materials and devices.
Track 2 : Carbon nanotubes
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene are allotropes of carbon which have unique electrical, mechanical & other physical properties. Graphene is a two-dimensional material, basically a single layer of graphite, with carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal, honeycomb lattice. Carbon nanotubes are hollow, cylindrical structures, essentially a sheet of graphene rolled into a cylinder. The angle at which they are rolled (their "chirality"), and their diameter, affect their properties. CNTs can be single-walled (SWCNTs or SWNTs) or multi-walled (MWCNTs or MWNTs).
Track 3 : Spintronics
Spintronics also known as magneto electronics,is an emerging technology that exploits both the intrinsic spin of the electron and its associated magnetic moment, in addition to its fundamental electronic charge, in solid-state devices. Spintronics emerged from discoveries in the 1980s concerning spin-dependent electron transport phenomena in solid-state devices. This includes the observation of spin-polarized electron injection from a ferromagnetic metal to a normal metal(1985),and the discovery of giant magneto resistance(1988). The origins of spintronics can be traced back even further to the ferromagnet/superconductor tunneling
Track 4: Nanophotonics
Nanophotonics encompasses a wide range of nontrivial physical effects including light-matter interactions that are well beyond diffraction limits, and have opened up new avenues for a variety of applications in light harvesting, sensing, luminescence, optical switching, and media transmitting technologies. Recently, growing expertise of fusing nanotechnology and photonics has become fundamental, arising outskirts, challenging basic experimentation and opportunities for new technologies in our daily lives, and played a central role in many optical systems. It entails the theoretical study of photon’s interactions with matter at incredibly small scales,
